During Open Access Week, Federal University of Technology, Minna will be going door-to-door to distribute material on open access initiatives and mandates to faculty and run jingles on the institutional radio station publicizing open access.
INASP received many high-quality entries and has awarded prizes to those institutions with innovative ideas and plans to share lessons learned, build on and incorporate learning from previous Open Access Week activities. The grants have been awarded to the institutions which demonstrated an understanding of and commitment to Open Access resources.
“The annual INASP/UNESCO Open Access Week grants are a great example of how quite a small amount of money can help to make a big difference to information access in a way that is decided by in-country partners and appropriate to their local contexts”, says Mai Skovgaard, Programme Officer at INASP.
Mai adds: “Previous grants have helped university libraries to demonstrate to students the wealth of information available to them online and helped rural health workers use high-quality open-access information in diagnosing and treating illness”.
The theme of this year’s Open Access Week is “Open in Action”. The theme focuses on taking concrete steps to open up research and scholarship and encouraging others to do the same.

Congratulations to all the grant winners!

FUT, MINNA Institutional Repository

1. Have you uploaded your research articles, conference papers etc to the University Repository?

2. The Institutional repository was set up for the management and dissemination of digital and electronic indigenous and research information materials created by the institution and its community members. It is a global Open Access initiative aimed at improving access to indigenous and research information.

3. Uploading your research articles to the repository improves and increases the visibility of your work which means your research output can be used far and wide.

4. This in turn means increased citation which of course is one of the crux for researchers.

5. To Use the Repository, Visit the University website ,
 http://www.futminna.edu.ng. Click on Publications and
click on Repository.

6. For further inquiries, please contact Mr. Musa Adamu at the Gidan Kwano Library.

7. Thank you.
